Riva is seeking a passionate and experienced Backend Developer with deep expertise in C# and the Microsoft .NET ecosystem. In this role, you’ll tackle complex technical challenges, design and build scalable solutions, and mentor team members. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Reporting to an Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with team leads, developers, testers, product owners, and customer-facing stakeholders to develop new product features, maintain and enhance existing systems, and resolve customer issues. Your work will directly impact the reliability and scalability of Riva’s core synchronization engine.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Architect and Deliver Scalable Backend Solutions: Design and build secure, robust, high-performance backend features for our core synchronization engine.
- Drive Innovation and Feature Development: Lead the design and implementation of new product features and improvements to existing systems.
- Ensure Code Quality and Maintainability: Write clean, well-documented, and testable code; participate in code reviews and mentor team members.
- Optimize System Performance: Implement performant data synchronization mechanisms and optimize database interactions.
- Ensure System Security: Advocate for and implement security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Complex Issues: Use advanced server-side troubleshooting skills to maintain system stability.
- Contribute to Technical Documentation: Prepare architectural and design documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Embrace DevOps Practices: Work with CI/CD pipelines and related technologies for efficient software delivery.
- Stay Current with Technology: Continuously learn and adopt new technologies and best practices within the .NET ecosystem.
- Communicate Technical Concepts Clearly: Explain solutions effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Lead Technical Transformations: Contribute to major initiatives such as migrating to newer .NET versions.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- 4+ years of backend or full-stack development experience architecting and designing complex data-driven solutions.
- Expertise in C# and the Microsoft .NET ecosystem.
- Proven ability to design and implement performant data synchronization mechanisms.
- Experience integrating and troubleshooting APIs using tools like Postman or Fiddler.
- Strong knowledge of domain-driven design, OOD, OOP, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Familiarity with Test Driven Development (TDD).
- Demonstrated experience mentoring team members and leading technical efforts.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.

- Experience with .NET 8.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
- Prior team or project leadership experience.
